Memory Card Reader Features

A card reader is a device that has a USB interface and is used to read data on the flash memory / memory card such as a CompactFlash, secure digital or Multimedia Card. Most card readers also offer write capability alongwith the card and can function as a pen drive.

You can connect the card reader to your notebook or PC through a USB port. Card Readers can handle up to eight types of flash memory (Compact Flash, SD Card, Mini SD, Memory Stick, XD, MMC, and Smart Media Cards).

After set up, you have to remove the card from your camera, put it in the reader, and the images will download automatically. After you've copied your pictures onto your hard drive you can format your memory card and use it afresh.
